CCDS Members Gather for Practice Transition Program and Society Updates at May General Membership Meeting

May 26, 2026

Contra Costa Dental Society members gathered on May 19 at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Building for an evening of networking, Society updates, and continuing education focused on one of the most significant decisions dentists face throughout their careers: planning what comes next.

Board President Dr. Kenneth Tittle opened the evening by sharing several areas of focus for CCDS in 2026, including strengthening member value, Society governance, and long-term financial sustainability. Members also heard about the Board’s newly adopted Vision and Mission statements, designed to help guide the Society’s future work and priorities.

Attendees were also invited to consider leadership opportunities as Board nominations officially opened, reinforcing the Society’s commitment to building a strong future through member involvement and engagement.

The evening's CE program, Entry, Expansion or Exit – A Program for Buyers and Sellers, featured California Dental Association Practice Support experts Miguel Mariona and Ann Milar. The session explored the many paths dentists may take throughout their professional lives — from purchasing a practice and bringing on associates or partners to preparing for eventual transition or sale.

The discussion covered practice purchase considerations and due diligence, dental plan contract evaluation, and strategic planning considerations that can support successful transitions at every stage of practice ownership. Members also learned about CDA resources available to help support those decisions along the way.

CCDS also recognized and welcomed its newest Corporate Member, TDIC, and highlighted upcoming programs including CPR training opportunities and continued engagement through the Early Career Dentists Group.

CCDS extends its appreciation to Miguel Mariona and Ann Milar for sharing their expertise and thanks all members, sponsors, and partners who joined us for another evening of education, conversation, and community.
