The American Dental Association is asking practicing dentists to help shape the future of the CDT Code by sharing how they document and report the administration of local anesthesia in everyday practice.

The survey focuses on the use of CDT Codes for local anesthesia, including local infiltrations and nerve blocks. Participants will be asked about how they currently use these codes, whether the existing distinctions are meaningful in clinical practice, and how they interpret related anesthesia terminology within the CDT Code.

Feedback collected through this survey will help inform future positions of the ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs during Code Maintenance Committee discussions. The goal is to ensure the CDT Code continues to support accurate, practical clinical documentation and reporting.
